We have recently developed our new youth
theatre group which is committed to the creative, personal and social
development of young people. It uses a wide range of activities including dance,
drama and voice workshops to provide a fun and creative learning process.

We recently offered offer a series of
Acting, Dance, Drama & Voice Workshops
during the summer of 2008 with the assistance of North
Lanarkshire Council's Learning and Leisure department to youths aged 16-18 from
High Schools across North Lanarkshire. These workshops were held over 6 weeks at
the Henderson
Theatre, Shotts.
During
the workshops young people learned to improvise, devise and perform under the
guidance of experienced members of our group, developing an understanding of performance and
learning skills and disciplines which will serve them in the future.
We are hoping to expand our Youth Theatre projects throughout the remainder of
this year so watch this space for further information.
Here is a sample of the feedback we received from our recent summer workshops: General
comments: "Learned a lot", "Built my confidence",

I've enjoyed: "Meeting new people", "Learning to improvise
and build my confidence", "Learning new skills and how to react to
people". What I would change:
"Have it on longer", "Wider age range", "Longer
sessions, lasting more than 6 weeks!".
